The 40% news profit split on funded accounts is the most commonly missed rule — it applies to any trade within 5 minutes of a high-impact event, even if you didn't intend to trade the news. Set your stop loss within 3 minutes of every trade or 100% risk is assumed automatically. If you pass with an EA, you must continue with that EA on the funded account — switching to manual is a violation.
Trading Conditions

FundedNext – Trading Conditions
Inactivity Rule
- 60 days without a trade → challenge account expires
- Must place at least one trade within every consecutive 60 calendar day window to keep the account active
60 days is generous by most prop firm standards. If you haven't opened a single trade in two months, the market probably wasn't the main obstacle.
Key Rules — The Ones Most Traders Skip
Margin Requirements:
- Margin usage must stay between 20–30%
- Strict maximum cumulative limit of 70%
Most firms say "don't overleverage" and leave the definition to your imagination. FundedNext gave you actual numbers, which is either refreshingly transparent or mildly alarming depending on how you usually trade.
Strategy Consistency:
- Same trading method — manual or EA — required across challenge and funded account
- Same asset classes and symbol categories required
- Significantly increasing margin or risk usage after passing is prohibited
FundedNext funded the trader who passed the challenge, not the trader you become once the evaluation pressure is gone. If those two traders are very different people, that's considered a problem — & based on the length of this section, it happens more often than you'd think.
Account Rolling:
- Strictly prohibited — buying multiple evaluations to sacrifice some while passing others is considered a luck-based tactic
- Violations may lead to restrictions on new purchases or lifetime allocation limits
Account rolling is essentially treating the challenge like a lottery ticket — buy enough of them and eventually one wins. FundedNext doesn't find this charming & has apparently seen it enough times to write a specific rule about it, which tells you everything you need to know about how common it was.
One-Sided Betting & Grid Trading:
- One-sided betting → prohibited
- Grid trading → prohibited
Both on the list because enough traders tried them to make the rule necessary. The full list of prohibited strategies is available HERE
Side note: the fact that FundedNext had to write a specific rule about people buying multiple challenges just to sacrifice some while passing others says a lot about the creativity of the average prop trader. Not the good kind of creativity.
EAs & Copy Trading
Both are allowed, both come with conditions that are stricter than they first appear.
Copy Trading:
- Between challenge accounts → allowed
- Between instant accounts → allowed
- Between challenge and instant accounts → not allowed
- Identical trades across accounts are not allowed
Expert Advisors:
- Available as an add-on only — not included by default
- Works on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 only
- EA must be customized to your trading style — off-the-shelf bots running identical strategies across multiple accounts won't fly
- Maximum allocation limit of $300,000 per EA or trading bot strategy
- Switching between EA and manual trading between challenge and funded account is not allowed
That last point is worth reading twice. If you pass the challenge with an EA and then decide you'd rather trade manually on the funded account — FundedNext considers that a violation.
Maximum Risk Per Trade — Funded Accounts
- 3% max risk per trade guideline, based on stop loss placement
- No stop loss within 3 minutes of opening a trade = 100% risk assumed, automatically
- First violation → 50% profit reduction
- Second violation → 100% profit reduction
- Third violation → placement into the Disciplined Trader Program
The Disciplined Trader Program sounds like something you'd find between "Mindful Investing" and "Trading With Intention" at an airport bookshop. In practice, it's FundedNext's way of saying your account is now on a very short leash & everyone involved knows it. Getting there requires three separate violations — which means you had at least two earlier opportunities to reconsider your approach and didn't. At that point, the program is probably deserved.
Drawdown Adjustment Rule — Instant Accounts
- 6% trailing max drawdown resets to initial balance once you reach 6% or more profit
- Withdrawing all profits after the reset results in account closure
So you grow the account, the drawdown resets, you withdraw everything, and the account closes. Not because you did anything wrong — just because there's nothing left to protect. It's a logical rule (according to them) that will still feel deeply unfair the first time it happens to you, which is exactly why it's in this section rather than buried in the footnotes where most firms prefer to keep it. In fact, from our own experience, we can tell you that they might be doing it because they want to lower their payouts.
News Trading
This one has a twist that most traders miss until it's too late — & "too late" in this context means after a profitable news trade that just got its payout cut in half without any warning you remember reading.
- Evaluation stage — fully allowed, no restrictions
- Funded accounts & Instant accounts — allowed, but any trade executed within 5 minutes before or after a high-impact news event is subject to a 40% news profit split rule
You can trade the news. You just won't keep the same percentage of what you make from it — & the difference between the standard split and 40% is large enough to matter when the trade actually works.
Final Take
FundedNext is a firm that has clearly spent time thinking about how traders actually behave — not just how they trade in theory, but how they behave when they think nobody is watching. The rules around strategy consistency, account rolling & the Disciplined Trader Program all point to a firm that's seen most of the tricks already & decided to write them down.
The 40% news profit split on funded accounts is the rule most likely to catch you off guard if news trading is part of your strategy — worth factoring into your numbers before you buy, not after your first high-impact trade pays out less than expected.
If your approach is consistent, your risk is controlled & you trade the same way in the challenge as you plan to trade funded — FundedNext is still a solid firm with clear rules and a structure that rewards exactly that kind of trader. If your strategy involves figuring things out as you go, FundedNext has already written a rule for that scenario too. Probably more than one.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
Bought a challenge and passed phase 1 and 2 within a month. Then the link for KYC was not working. Contacted support and I was able to upload my ID. However, they were not satisfied and they subjected me to an interview. After 5 days they sent me an email that they had banned my account since I got assistance when doing KYC. Such a silly excuse. I asked for a refund considering a had passed the two phases and I had wasted my funds buying a challenge with them but they declined. I wish it was a genuine reason on breaching trading rules. But passing and being given the lamest excuse to ban the account. I believe they are just buy scammers paying influencers to bait traders to buy their challenges
glad i picked these guys
been burned by a sketchy firm before so i went in cautious this time. there is a discord and staff actually show up in it occasionally. the rules pdf is long but at least nothing is buried in tiny print. support replied way faster than my actual broker which is kinda sad when you think about it. the payout actually hit my account in like two days which i did not expect.
no complaints from me
Picked them because they were one of the few that took traders from my country. i hit up support on a saturday night fully expecting silence and someone replied in maybe ten minutes. the daily loss limit gives you enough room to actually trade your plan instead of choking you out. the scaling lets you double your account size every time you clear a payout milestone. i scaled twice and each bump was a real size jump not some token gesture.
three payouts deep
Jumped in during a discount they were running over the holidays. i got a partial refund of my fee back with my first payout which i wasnt expecting. honestly the rules made my retail trading better too … forced discipline and all that. trades closed at my stop exactly … no requote nonsense or sneaky slippage at the level. ive done three withdrawals now and every single one landed on schedule no excuses. their live chat actually connected me to a person not a bot loop for twenty minutes. would i bet my rent on them? already did … and it worked out.
pleasantly surprised tbh
Needed a firm that allowed my EA so this is where i ended up. leverage is reasonable, not the reckless stuff that blows beginners up. platform was stable the whole time, no random disconnects during news. overnight swaps are charged but they are upfront about the numbers. fees are reasonable for what you get and the retake discount softens the blow. did not expect to stay this long but they keep delivering.
solid all rounder
My prop firm group chat would not shut up about them so i caved. support gave me a straight answer about overnight holds instead of dodging the question. the consistency rule is generous enough that one good day doesnt disqualify your whole payout. payouts are biweekly on funded accounts which is way better than the monthly firms. i like that the daily loss limit resets at a sane hour for my timezone. support actually answered and the money actually arrived, what a concept.
would buy again
Tried them out after a refund nightmare with a competitor. the scaling plan is actually motivating instead of being some impossible carrot on a stick. i requested a payout three times and all three landed inside the promised window. been with them six months and the payout reliability is the main reason im still here. not the cheapest, not the flashiest, just reliable, and that is enough.
Finally A Firm That Pays
i blew my first account in two days like an absolute clown. teh eval took me like 27 trading days total, not fast not slow, just fair. i moved up an account tier and the upgrade process took all of five minutes. suport remembered my previous ticket and didnt make me re-explain the whole thing. reset on a blown challenge was free which saved me from buying a whole new account. man no regrets, would hand them my eval fee again. I don't see the point of some of the rules, man.
solid platform, no surprises
My buddy kept hyping these guys up so i gave them a shot. no surprise inactivity fees which i half expected to get hit with. i had a losing month and they did not nuke my account, just the usual rules applied. their content creators seem to actually trade the product instead of just reading scripts. the withdrawal request i submitted on a tuesday was sitting in my bank by thursday morning. no notes really, it just works.
passed second attempt
signed up on a whim after a podcast mention. thier dashboard is genuinely useful, learned stuff about my own trading just looking at it. monthly fee on teh challenge is honestly cheap compared to what others charge for the same size. i held positions over the weekend a bunch of times and never got penalised. execution during london open has been clean even when spreads widen everywhere else. getting verified for a payout needed an id and a selfie … standard stuff, painless. idk but fast eval … fair rules … faster payout, top marks from me.
