Additional Rules

Single-phase evaluation with a 6% profit target: The Standard challenge requires reaching a $3,000 profit target on a $50,000 account with no time limit. Profit is measured on closed balance — all positions must be flat before the target is confirmed. The absence of a deadline allows traders to approach the evaluation patiently rather than forcing trades to meet an expiry.
No time limit: Unlike many futures prop firms, the Standard challenge has no deadline. Traders can take as long as needed to reach the $3,000 target while respecting all drawdown rules. This is the defining structural advantage of the Standard challenge versus time-limited models.
Minimum 5 profitable trading days required for evaluation review: Before the account can advance to the funded stage, at least 5 winning trading days must be present. This requirement ensures the evaluation result reflects consistent performance rather than a single lucky session. Days with a net loss or breakeven do not count toward this minimum.
Daily loss limit of $1,250 — Hard Breach: The Standard plan uses a hard breach daily loss limit. On a $50,000 account, equity or balance must never fall below $1,250 below the start-of-day balance at any point during the session. A hard breach means the account is permanently terminated immediately when this threshold is touched — there is no warning or soft breach mechanism. One overexposed trade in an adverse session can end the evaluation without any further opportunity for recovery.
Maximum drawdown of $2,500 — EOD (End-of-Day): The total loss limit is $2,500 calculated on an End-of-Day basis. The floor updates at the end of each trading session based on the closing balance — not intraday peaks. If the account closes Day 1 at $51,500, the new EOD floor becomes $49,000 ($51,500 − $2,500). Intraday equity dips below the current EOD floor still count as a breach even though the floor itself does not update intraday, making live equity monitoring essential throughout each session.
Position scaling starts conservatively in the challenge: During the evaluation, traders are limited to 3 Mini contracts and 30 Micros. However, in the funded stage, contract access starts at 1 Mini / 10 Micros and only scales upward as profits accumulate. A funded trader cannot immediately access the full 3-Mini capacity — they must first generate $2,000 in funded profits to unlock it.
Consistency rule of 40% in both evaluation and funded: No single trading day may account for 40% or more of total profits at any given point. If one day exceeds the 40% threshold, trading must continue until the ratio naturally falls below 40% before the evaluation can be passed or a payout requested. On a $50,000 account, if the highest profit day is $1,200 and total profits are $2,800, the ratio is 42.9% — above the limit. The trader must continue trading until total profits exceed $3,000 to bring that day's contribution below 40%, even if the $3,000 target has already been reached.
Payout targets in the funded stage: The funded stage does not allow free withdrawals. A structured payout target system applies: the first payout requires $3,000 in profit (6% of starting balance), the second requires $2,000 (4%), and all subsequent payouts require $2,000 (4%) each. Traders must meet both the payout target AND the 40% consistency rule before each withdrawal.
Payout cap of $1,350 per withdrawal: Each payout request is capped at $1,350 on a $50,000 Standard funded account. Even if total profits exceed this amount significantly, a single payout cannot exceed $1,350 until the cap is eventually removed after sufficient payout history.
News trading restrictions: During red folder news events (FOMC, CPI, NFP, PMI, PPI, Employment Reports, JOLTS, Trump Speeches, Powell Speeches, and similar high-impact releases), no positions may be opened, closed, or held — including pending and limit orders — within 5 minutes before or after the release. During evaluation, news trading is permitted in terms of overall strategy but cannot be the sole method of passing — additional non-news trades must be present for account review.
Hard breach daily limit creates binary session risk: Because the Standard uses a hard breach (rather than soft breach), a single session where equity drops $1,250 immediately terminates the account with no recovery option. Strategies that run wider stops or scale into losing positions must be carefully sized to ensure that even an adverse day cannot consume the full daily limit in a single trade sequence.
EOD floor rises with every profitable closing session: Each session that closes at a new balance high permanently raises the EOD floor. A trader who strings together several profitable sessions will find the EOD floor has risen substantially, reducing the absolute dollar buffer available for any future single-session drawdown. Conservative session management is required to avoid locking in a floor that leaves insufficient room for normal intraday variance.
Contract scaling in funded adds an operational layer: The funded account does not begin with full contract access. Starting at 1 Mini / 10 Micros, traders must first prove profitability at reduced position sizes before unlocking greater capacity. This forced conservative start period can meaningfully slow early payout accumulation for traders accustomed to trading at the challenge's maximum contract level.

Scaling Plan

Position-based scaling within the funded account: Blue Guardian Futures applies a structured position scaling model on Standard funded accounts. The number of contracts a trader may hold simultaneously grows progressively as profits accumulate, preventing over-leveraging early in the funded stage and rewarding consistent performance with greater exposure capacity.
Below $1,000 in profit: Traders may hold a maximum of 1 Mini contract and 10 Micro contracts simultaneously. This conservative starting allocation ensures new funded traders build initial profits with controlled risk before accessing larger position sizes.
$1,000 to $2,000 in profit: The maximum position size increases to 2 Mini contracts and 20 Micro contracts, reflecting the trader's demonstrated ability to generate consistent returns within the funded account parameters.
$2,000 to $4,000 in profit: Traders reach the maximum allowed position size for the $50,000 Standard funded account — 3 Mini contracts and 30 Micro contracts. This is the ceiling for position capacity on this account, and no further scaling beyond this level is available at the $50,000 tier.
Profit split structure: The first $15,000 of total profits withdrawn from the funded account are paid at a 100% split — the trader keeps every dollar. All profits beyond the first $15,000 are paid at a 90% split. This structure rewards early funded performance and provides an exceptional income incentive for traders building their initial track record.
Maximum capital access: Blue Guardian Futures offers funded allocations up to $450,000, accessible through consistent performance across multiple funded accounts.
