Additional Rules

Three-phase evaluation: Traders must reach a 6% profit target in each of the three evaluation phases, all with no time limit. On a $10,000 account, this means generating $600 in closed profits per phase while respecting all drawdown rules throughout each phase independently.
No minimum trading days in evaluation: Unlike the 1-Step and 2-Step models, the 3-Step challenge does not impose any minimum number of profitable trading days during the evaluation phases. Traders can complete each phase in as few sessions as needed, provided the profit target and all risk rules are respected.
Minimum trading days in funded stage: Once in the funded account, traders must complete at least 3 valid trading days before becoming eligible for each payout. A valid trading day requires a minimum profit of 0.5% of the initial account balance, meaning at least $50 profit per qualifying day on a $10,000 account. This counter resets after each payout.
Daily loss limit of 4%: A 4% daily loss limit applies across all three evaluation phases and the funded stage. On a $10,000 account, this means a maximum daily loss of $400. The threshold is calculated at 5:00 PM EST by taking the higher value between account balance and equity, then subtracting $400. If your account grows, the threshold moves up, but the dollar-value daily allowance remains fixed at $400 based on the initial account size.
Maximum drawdown of 8% static: The total loss limit is set at 8% of the initial account balance and never moves, regardless of profits made. On a $10,000 account, the absolute floor is $9,200. If equity or balance drops to or below this level at any point, the account is immediately breached.
Static drawdown model: Both the daily and maximum loss limits are calculated from the initial account balance, not from peak equity. Profits made during any phase do not tighten the risk parameters, giving traders a stable and predictable risk boundary from start to finish.
Leverage: Up to 1:100 for Forex during all three evaluation phases, reduced to 1:50 in the funded stage. Indices and Commodities are capped at 1:20 in evaluation and 1:10 in funded. Crypto is capped at 1:2 across all stages.
Profit split: 80% by default, with a 100% profit split available as an add-on at checkout.
Payout frequency: Bi-weekly (every 14 days) from the funded stage, with the option to upgrade to an on-demand first reward add-on, which allows a 40% split withdrawal after just 3 trading days in the funded account.
First 2 payout caps: For the first two payouts, withdrawals are capped at 6% of the initial account size or $10,000, whichever is lower. On a $10,000 account, the first two payouts are capped at $600 each. This restriction is fully removed after the second successful payout.
Daily profit cap in funded stage: A $3,000 daily profit cap applies once in the funded account. Profits exceeding this limit on any given day are deducted but do not result in a breach. This cap is shared across all GFT challenge models in the funded phase.
News trading: Permitted in both evaluation and funded phases. Any trade opened or closed within 5 minutes before or after a high-impact red folder news event is subject to a 1% profit cap on the initial account balance, meaning maximum news-related profit per event is $100 on a $10,000 account. Excess profit is removed but does not cause a breach.
EAs allowed with restrictions: Expert Advisors are permitted provided the trader owns the code and can prove it upon request. High-frequency trading EAs, gold arbitrage EAs, latency arbitrage strategies, and commercial challenge-passing EAs are strictly prohibited. Copy trading is completely banned and results in immediate account closure.
Weekend and overnight holding: Permitted with no restrictions across all phases and the funded stage, offering full flexibility for swing traders.
Three-phase commitment: With three separate evaluation phases to complete, the total time and number of profitable sessions required before reaching funded status is significantly greater than 1-Step or 2-Step models. A breach at any point in any phase requires starting over entirely from Phase 1.
No minimum days during evaluation but 3 days required in funded: The absence of a minimum trading day requirement in evaluation speeds up completion but can incentivize over-trading in a single session to hit the target quickly, particularly on a $10,000 account where the daily limit is only $400. Forcing through profits in one large session increases breach risk significantly.
Daily drawdown moves with profits: Because the daily threshold is calculated from the current higher balance or equity at 5PM EST, a trader who grows the account will have a higher threshold to stay above each day. While the dollar drawdown amount stays fixed at $400, a profitable day can push the threshold higher, meaning a bad session the following day starts from a more elevated floor — leaving less cushion before hitting the static $9,200 absolute floor.
1% news profit cap creates asymmetric risk: The 1% cap applies only to gains from news trades, while all losses during the same window count in full. On a $10,000 account, a news trade that goes wrong can cost up to $400 in a single day, while gains from the same trade are capped at $100 — a deeply unfavorable risk-reward profile for news-focused strategies.
First two payout caps limit early access: The $600 cap per payout for the first two withdrawals on a $10,000 account means a trader who performs exceptionally well early on cannot access their full profits until after the second payout, reducing liquidity and potentially delaying reinvestment or personal income for the first 4–6 weeks of funded trading.
Level 4 GOAT status requires 6 months and 15 payouts: Reaching the highest scaling tier with 50% capital increase, 95% profit split, and $2M ceiling requires sustained performance across 6 funded months with consistent bi-weekly payouts. At the $10,000 level, this represents a significant long-term commitment before accessing the program's most attractive benefits.

Scaling Plan

Level 1 capital boost: After 2 months in the funded phase and 4 successful payouts, the account balance increases by 15% of the original account size, the profit split rises to 90%, and both the daily and maximum drawdown limits increase by 1%, giving traders more flexibility as they grow.
Level 2 progression: After 4 months in the funded phase and 6 successful payouts, the capital boost increases to 30% of the original account size, the profit split remains at 90%, daily and maximum drawdown limits increase by 2%, and payout frequency upgrades to weekly.
Level 3 consistency reward: After 5 months in the funded phase and 10 successful payouts, the capital boost reaches 40% of the original account size, the profit split rises to 92%, drawdown limits increase by 3%, weekly payouts continue, a free challenge replacement is unlocked if the account is breached, and a monthly salary of $300 applies to accounts between $5,000 and $50,000.
Level 4 GOAT Trader status: After 6 months in the funded phase and 15 successful payouts, the maximum capital boost reaches 50% of the original account size, the profit split rises to 95%, drawdown limits increase by 4%, the free challenge replacement and monthly salary benefits from Level 3 remain in place, and total capital can reach up to $2,000,000.
Scale-ups based on original account size: All scaling increases are calculated from the original account size, not from any merged or combined balance. If multiple accounts are merged, scaling is still applied to each individual account's starting balance separately.
Performance-based eligibility: All scaling milestones are conditional on completing the required number of funded months and successful payouts. Consistency and adherence to GFT's trading rules throughout each period are required to progress through each level.
