Additional Rules
No evaluation phase: Traders receive immediate access to a funded account from day one with no challenge, no profit target to reach, and no evaluation required. The account is activated the moment payment is confirmed.
No profit target: There is no minimum profit required to remain active or qualify for payouts. The only obligations are to respect the trailing daily drawdown and maximum drawdown rules.
Trailing daily loss limit of 3%: A 3% trailing daily loss limit applies. On a $5,000 account, this means a maximum daily loss of $150. The threshold is calculated at 5:00 PM EST by taking the higher of balance or equity and subtracting $150 (3% of the initial balance). If the account grows, the threshold moves up, but the fixed daily dollar allowance remains $150.
Trailing maximum drawdown of 6%: The maximum total drawdown is a trailing 6% of the highest equity ever recorded. On a $5,000 account starting from initial balance, the maximum loss from peak equity at any time is $300. As the account grows, the trailing drawdown floor rises permanently with each new equity high.
Maximum loss per trade rule: If floating PnL drops below -2% of the account balance at any moment, the account is permanently closed. On a $5,000 account, this means a combined open trade loss of -$100 results in immediate account closure. This is the tightest intraday risk rule in GFT's lineup and requires careful position sizing at all times.
Drawdown resets after payout: The maximum trailing drawdown threshold resets to 6% below the current account balance after each successful payout, giving traders a fresh risk buffer each cycle.
Minimum trading days: At least 5 valid trading days must be completed before requesting each payout. A valid day requires a minimum profit of 0.5% of the initial balance, meaning at least $25 profit per qualifying day on a $5,000 account. Days do not need to be consecutive.
Consistency rule: No single trading day can account for 20% or more of total profits during a payout period. If one day's profit reaches 20% of total accumulated profits, a payout cannot be requested until the ratio normalizes. Violating this does not breach the account but blocks payouts.
Profit split: 80% by default. A 100% profit split is available as an add-on at checkout.
Payout frequency: Bi-weekly (every 14 days).
News trading: Permitted with a 1% profit cap ($50) per high-impact news event for trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of the release. Losses from the same window count in full.
EAs allowed with restrictions: Own-code EAs permitted. HFT, arbitrage, and commercial EAs prohibited. Copy trading banned.
Weekend and overnight holding: Permitted with no restrictions.
Leverage: 1:100 for Forex, 1:20 for Indices and Commodities, 1:2 for Crypto.
Trailing drawdown from day one: Unlike challenge accounts where the funded phase begins after passing evaluation, the Instant GOAT trailing drawdown starts tracking from the very first trade. Any early gain immediately tightens the loss floor, meaning a profitable opening session followed by a reversal can breach the account even if overall results are positive.
2% floating loss rule is extremely tight on small accounts: On a $5,000 account, a combined open trade loss of just -$100 closes the account immediately. At 1:100 leverage, a 0.01 lot trade can breach this in fewer than 10 pips on an adverse move, making micro-lot sizing essential.
Consistency rule can delay payouts indefinitely: A single exceptional trading day that represents 20% or more of total profits blocks all payouts until the ratio normalizes through additional trading. On a $5,000 account, a $100 single-day gain when total profits are $400 triggers the consistency block, requiring traders to continue generating at least $100 more in profits before withdrawing.
News profit cap asymmetry: The $50 news profit cap on a $5,000 account is extremely limiting for news-focused strategies, while losses from the same window have no cap.
