Instant Funding
Instant Funding does what it says — skip the evaluation, start trading. The convenience is real. So is the higher monthly fee and the stricter ongoing rules. Whether that trade-off works depends entirely on how much you hate evaluation phases.

Leaves room for improvement
Picked them because a friend had a decent but not great experience. Some payouts were fast, others took nearly three weeks. Better than I feared, worse than the marketing suggests.— Verified Trader (Thomas Walsh) See all reviews
The 3% risk rule applies to all your open positions combined — not per trade. If you have three trades open, their combined risk cannot exceed 3% of your balance at any moment. On Micro accounts, the 15% best day rule means you need at least 7 profitable days before one strong session counts fully. Check whether news trading and weekend holding are included in your base account or require add-ons before your first trade.

Instant Funding – Trading Conditions
Forbidden Trading Practices
Not allowed across all accounts:
- HFT — defined as trades lasting 60 seconds or less
- Tick scalping
- Martingale & Grid trading
- Statistical arbitrage & Latency arbitrage
- Gap trading & front-running price feeds
- Copy trading between internal accounts
- Third-party EAs
- VPN, VPS or datacenter usage — explicitly prohibited & monitored
- Shared IPs between multiple users — flagged as a common cheating method
- Risking more than 3% of account balance at any one time → classified as gambling & constitutes a breach
That last one is worth highlighting. The 3% total risk rule applies at all times — not per trade, but across all open positions simultaneously. It's stricter than it first appears.
News Trading
News trading during high-impact events requires a paid add-on on Instant accounts — not included by default. Several features that come standard at other firms require a paid upgrade here. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing before you buy.
Expert Advisors
- EAs allowed — with exceptions
- Third-party EAs → Nope
- EAs used for risk management → may be permitted
Copy Trading
- Between accounts owned by the same trader → allowed
- To/from external accounts or other users → prohibited
Account Models — Overview
Seven account types. Read which one you're on before you start trading — they don't all follow the same rules.
| Account Type | Profit Target | Daily Loss | Max Drawdown | Consistency Rule |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instant Funding Account | No target | No limit | 10% (Smart DD) | None |
| Instant Funding Micro | No target | 4% | 6% Static | 15% best day |
| One-Phase Challenge | 10% | 3% | 8% | 40% best day |
| One-Phase Micro | 10% | 4% | 6% Static | 15% best day |
| Two-Phase Challenge | 8% / 5% | 5% | 10% | 40% best day |
| Two-Phase Max | 8% / 5% | 4% | 10% Static | None |
| IF1 Challenge | 3% in 24hrs | 2% | 4% Static | 15% (per trade) |
The Smart Drawdown — Instant Funding Account
This is the feature that defines the standard Instant Funding Account & the one most traders misunderstand.
- Starts at -10% max drawdown
- Once you reach 5% profit → drawdown automatically updates to -5% of starting balance & locks there permanently
So the more you profit early, the tighter your floor gets — & once it locks at -5%, it stays there regardless of further performance. It's a safety net that tightens as you succeed, which is either clever risk management or mildly counterintuitive depending on your perspective.
Consistency Rules — By Account Type
This is where the models diverge significantly & where most traders get caught off guard.
- Instant Funding Account → no consistency rule
- One-Phase Challenge & Two-Phase Challenge → 40% best day rule — your best trading day cannot account for more than 40% of total profit
- Instant Funding Micro, One-Phase Micro & IF1 → 15% best day rule — one of the strictest in the industry
- Two-Phase Max → no consistency rule
The 15% best day rule on Micro accounts means you need a minimum of 7 profitable days before one exceptional day counts fully. If you're planning to make most of your profit in 1-2 sessions, Micro accounts are not the right model.
Payouts
- First payout → 14 days after your first trade
- Subsequent payouts → every 7 days after your next placed trade
- Profit split → 80% baseline, 90% after scaling
- Two-Phase Max → unique tiered structure:
- 5–13 days between payouts → 60% split
- 14–27 days → 80% split
- 28 days or later → 95% split
Side note: Two-Phase Max rewards patience with a significantly better profit split. If you're not in a rush — the 95% split after 28 days is one of the better numbers in the industry. The catch is that you have to actually wait.
Scaling
- Challenge accounts → scale by +25% every 90 days, up to 100% of starting balance
- Instant Funding Account → account doubles each time you scale, up to $1.28M
- Scale cost → 5% of starting balance each time you scale
- Scale trigger → 10% gain in account balance required
The Instant Funding Account scaling path to $1.28M is one of the higher capital limits available in the industry — & the doubling mechanic means you get there faster than a linear 25% increase. The 5% cost per scale is worth factoring into your numbers before you trigger it.
Inactivity Rule
- 30 days of inactivity → account automatically suspended
- Referenced in the Agreement as subject to change
Standard across the industry. Nothing unusual here.
An Important Disclosure
Section 8 of the Trader Agreement contains a clause worth reading before you sign up.
Instant Funding explicitly states that it may use customer simulated trading data — including copying or transmitting simulated trades — to trade in real live markets using its own funds. Customers grant consent to this automatically by using the service & are not entitled to any compensation associated with this use of their data.
This is more transparent than most firms — many do the same thing without disclosing it at all. The disclosure is there. Whether it changes your decision is up to you.
Final Take
Instant Funding offers genuine variety — seven account types covering most trading styles, a scaling path to $1.28M on the standard account & a payout structure that starts at 14 days. The rules are detailed, the T&Cs are longer than most & the prohibited practices list is comprehensive enough that most edge cases are already covered.
The add-on model means the base product has fewer features than the headline suggests — news trading, weekend holding & daily drawdown removal all require extra payment on certain accounts. Factor that into your cost comparison before buying.

cautiously recommend
Picked them because they were one of the few that took traders from my country. the second phase target was lower than phase one which kept me sane. they paused my consistency tracker when i asked for a couple weeks off, super flexible. the drawdown is calculated on balance not equity which honestly saved me a few times. spreads are fine, nothing crazy, nothing terrible, it is a prop firm not a charity. would i recommend? yeah, as long as you can follow rules.
survived the challenge
Grabbed an account during their black friday sale, no regrets really. i renewed my challenge this month which is basically my whole review right there. the eval took me like 27 trading days total, not fast not slow, just fair. kyc was painless, uploaded my id and got verified the same afternoon. consistency rule almost got me once because i did not read the fine print, my bad not theirs. still funded, still profitable, still getting paid, that is the test that matters.
beginner friendly enough
Signed up mostly to test thier platform before committing real focus. they refunded my eval fee when i got funded which was a nice surprise. i passed phase one then immediately fumbled phase two before pulling it back in teh last week. slippage outside of high impact news is basically a non issue for me. the news trading rule confused me at first but the faq actually explains why it exists. man i appreciated that they email you before a rule change instead of springing it. no regrets, would hand them my eval fee again.
Would Buy Again
My first funded account ever was with these guys so i am a bit biased. first withdrawal i was sweating bullets but it came through clean and on time. the ui looks like it was designed in 2014 but functionally everything works. the challenge timer is generous … i never felt rushed into bad trades. their server uptime during the last nfp was flawless from where i sat. verdict: boring in the best possible way.
support came through
Been with this firm for a few months now and honestly no major complaints. there is a discord and staff actually show up in it occasionally. the challenge rules are strict but at least they are written in plain english for once. the demo and funded feeds matched closely enough that i trusted my backtests. their dashboard is genuinely useful, learned stuff about my own trading just looking at it. recommend, but read the consistency rule twice before you start.
glad i gave them a shot
Not gonna lie i went in expecting the worst. the verification email came instantly instead of the usual 24 hour wait. they let me run my algo as long as it is not some latency arbitrage exploit. overnight swaps are charged but they are upfront about the numbers. they honoured a payout even though i fat fingered a lot size … very fair. i compared them against three others and they had the best balance of price and rules. the kind of firm you forget about because nothing goes wrong … which is the point.
not bad at all
A mentor of mine uses them so i followed his lead. their content creators seem to actually trade the product instead of just reading scripts. partial closes and trailing stops both worked exactly like they should. the news trading rule confused me at first but the faq actually explains why it exists. i moved up an account tier and the upgrade process took all of five minutes. first withdrawal i was sweating bullets but it came through clean and on time. recommend with the usual caveat that you have to actually read the rules.
not perfect but solid
Signed up after seeing them everywhere on twitter, figured why not. minimum trading days felt forced at first but i get it now, it protects both sides. the payout actually hit my account in like two days which i did not expect. they cap the max lot size which annoyed me at first but it protects you. the profit target on phase one is ambitious but not insane. no notes really, it just works.
no surprises here
Honestly just wanted to see if any of these prop firms are legit at all. getting verified for a payout needed an id and a selfie, standard stuff, painless. i never had to chase support, they actually closed my ticket the same day. the trailing drawdown is reasonable if you size your positions like an adult. payouts are biweekly on funded accounts which is way better than the monthly firms.
solid but not flawless
Went with the smallest account size to keep the risk low while i learned. partial closes and trailing stops both worked exactly like they should. execution during london open is tight enough to scalp if you are into that. i had a margin scare during cpi and the platform held up without freezing. i tested the live account against the demo with the same setups and it matched. i have nothing dramatic to report and honestly that is the highest praise.
