Lark Funding
Lark Funding has been around since 2021 and stays quiet enough that you almost forget it exists. The rules are not the cleanest in the space and the pass rate won't make you optimistic. Fine if you've run out of better options. Just read the T&Cs first.

Who Is This Firm For?
About Lark Funding
The catch is a pass rate that won't inspire confidence and a hidden rules score that suggests "fewer restrictions" and "no restrictions" are not the same thing. Read the T&Cs before you get too comfortable with the flexibility narrative.

- - Over-aggressive news trading flagged at discretion — no defined threshold
- - Single Share Equity CFDs must close before earnings — instant hard breach if violated
- - Discretion-based enforcement creates uncertainty when things go wrong
Decent, with caveats
Been using them for long enough to form a balanced opinion. Support is helpful on simple issues but struggles with anything complex. Competent but not memorable.— Verified Trader (samir p.) See all reviews
The $10K profit cap applies per trade including partial closes — if you're scaling winners, factor this in before you size up. The "too risky" clause has no defined threshold — if your strategy gets flagged, the outcome is at the firm's discretion. Trade the same way in the challenge as you plan to trade funded — consistency is monitored by pattern recognition, not strict metrics. Close all Single Share Equity CFD positions before any earnings release or it's an instant hard breach.

High-Frequency & Fast Trading
- Not Allowed:
- HFT and arbitrage-based EAs
- Gold arbitrage systems
- Off-the-shelf and challenge-passing EAs
- Shared strategies and signal copying
- Exploiting pricing errors or latency across platforms
- Front-running external trades
- $10K per-trade profit cap — excess trimmed automatically, 3 violations = termination
Low Liquidity & Timing
- News trading allowed — over-aggressive execution flagged at firm's discretion
- Single Share Equity CFDs: must close before earnings releases — instant hard breach and profit removal
- Weekend holding: allowed on all models
- No specific session time restrictions beyond earnings CFD rule
- Strategy consistency enforced by pattern recognition between evaluation and funded stage
Loss-Chasing & Gambling
- Not Allowed:
- All-in trades that can breach limits in one move
- Gambling behavior and poor risk management
- Trading patterns that jeopardize broker relationships
- Account sharing — original buyer only
- Signal copying and shared strategy execution
- One active account per challenge level unless approved

Lark Funding - Forbidden Trading Practices
Exploiting pricing errors, latency, or arbitrage opportunities — across platforms or accounts
Using insider information or front-running external trades
Gambling behavior & poor risk management
- “All-in” trades that can breach limits in one move
- $10,000 max profit per trade cap (violations trimmed, repeated breaches = termination)
Third-party strategies & non-original trading
- Off-the-shelf EAs
- Challenge-passing bots
- Signal copying / shared strategies
Strategy inconsistency
- Using one strategy to pass and another on funded → violation
Market abuse & broker risk
- Trading patterns that may “jeopardize broker relationships”
- Any activity flagged as too risky at the firm’s discretion
Equity CFD restrictions
- Holding positions into earnings → instant hard breach
The $10K profit cap is where things get interesting — it’s basically like being told you can win at the casino, just not too much, because at that point it becomes suspiciously inconvenient for the house.
News Trading
News trading is allowed
However:
- Over-aggressive trading around news can be flagged as risky behavior
- Falls under discretionary enforcement
Single Share Equity CFDs:
- Must be closed before earnings releases
- Violation = instant hard breach + profit removal
So yes, you can trade the news — just don’t actually behave like someone trying to make money from it. Subtle difference, apparently.
Expert Advisors
EAs are allowed — with restrictions
Not allowed:
- Off-the-shelf EAs
- Challenge-passing bots
- HFT / arbitrage-based EAs
- Gold arbitrage systems
Allowed:
- Custom EAs
- Individual strategies with unique parameters
In other words, you can absolutely use an EA — as long as it’s not the same one everyone else is using, and doesn’t actually exploit anything efficiently. A very “bring your own homework, but make sure it looks different” type of rule.
Copy Trading
Signal trading / shared execution → prohibited
Account sharing → prohibited
Accounts must be used by the original buyer only
One active account per challenge level unless approved

Special Clauses Worth Noting
$10,000 Per-Trade Profit Cap
- Any trade above $10K → trimmed
- Partial closes still count as one trade
- 3 violations → account termination
This effectively kills any strategy that relies on scaling winners aggressively.
“Too Risky” Clause
If considers your strategy:
“too risky”
They can:
- force a retake
- refund you
- or deny progression
This is one of those rules that reads harmless until you realize it’s basically the prop firm equivalent of “we’ll let you know if we don’t like what you’re doing.” Which is comforting in the same way vague medical symptoms are.
Strategy Consistency Rule
Switching strategies between evaluation and funded:
→ violation
Enforced based on pattern recognition, not strict metrics.
Inactivity & Weekend Holding
Inactivity → not clearly defined (assume ~30 days industry norm)
Weekend holding → allowed
Disputes Policy
Chargebacks → strictly prohibited
May result in:
- permanent ban
- loss of account access
Standard, nothing exotic here.
Final Take
Lark Funding presents itself as a flexible, trader-friendly firm — and on the surface, that’s largely accurate.
No time limits, straightforward models, and support for multiple trading styles make it accessible, especially for newer traders.
But underneath that flexibility, there’s a noticeable reliance on discretion-based enforcement.
The $10K profit cap, the “too risky” clause, and the strategy consistency rule are the main friction points — not because they exist, but because they’re not always clearly defined.
That creates a setup where:
things work smoothly… until they don’t — and when they don’t, the explanation isn’t always mechanical.

Scaled after three months
Switched here after a couple of disappointing experiences elsewhere. Educational content on their site is genuinely useful, not just marketing fluff. Good work overall and I hope other firms learn from their example.
Retained funding for months
Switched here after a couple of disappointing experiences elsewhere. Their bot-detection does not flag legitimate EA users like it does elsewhere. For the price, the value you get is hard to beat.
Profit targets were realistic
Started with the smallest account size to test the waters. Platform stability has been solid with minimal downtime. Will recommend them to my trading circle without hesitation.
