The 40% news profit split on funded accounts is the most commonly missed rule — it applies to any trade within 5 minutes of a high-impact event, even if you didn't intend to trade the news. Set your stop loss within 3 minutes of every trade or 100% risk is assumed automatically. If you pass with an EA, you must continue with that EA on the funded account — switching to manual is a violation.
Trading Conditions

FundedNext – Trading Conditions
Inactivity Rule
- 60 days without a trade → challenge account expires
- Must place at least one trade within every consecutive 60 calendar day window to keep the account active
60 days is generous by most prop firm standards. If you haven't opened a single trade in two months, the market probably wasn't the main obstacle.
Key Rules — The Ones Most Traders Skip
Margin Requirements:
- Margin usage must stay between 20–30%
- Strict maximum cumulative limit of 70%
Most firms say "don't overleverage" and leave the definition to your imagination. FundedNext gave you actual numbers, which is either refreshingly transparent or mildly alarming depending on how you usually trade.
Strategy Consistency:
- Same trading method — manual or EA — required across challenge and funded account
- Same asset classes and symbol categories required
- Significantly increasing margin or risk usage after passing is prohibited
FundedNext funded the trader who passed the challenge, not the trader you become once the evaluation pressure is gone. If those two traders are very different people, that's considered a problem — & based on the length of this section, it happens more often than you'd think.
Account Rolling:
- Strictly prohibited — buying multiple evaluations to sacrifice some while passing others is considered a luck-based tactic
- Violations may lead to restrictions on new purchases or lifetime allocation limits
Account rolling is essentially treating the challenge like a lottery ticket — buy enough of them and eventually one wins. FundedNext doesn't find this charming & has apparently seen it enough times to write a specific rule about it, which tells you everything you need to know about how common it was.
One-Sided Betting & Grid Trading:
- One-sided betting → prohibited
- Grid trading → prohibited
Both on the list because enough traders tried them to make the rule necessary. The full list of prohibited strategies is available HERE
Side note: the fact that FundedNext had to write a specific rule about people buying multiple challenges just to sacrifice some while passing others says a lot about the creativity of the average prop trader. Not the good kind of creativity.
EAs & Copy Trading
Both are allowed, both come with conditions that are stricter than they first appear.
Copy Trading:
- Between challenge accounts → allowed
- Between instant accounts → allowed
- Between challenge and instant accounts → not allowed
- Identical trades across accounts are not allowed
Expert Advisors:
- Available as an add-on only — not included by default
- Works on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 only
- EA must be customized to your trading style — off-the-shelf bots running identical strategies across multiple accounts won't fly
- Maximum allocation limit of $300,000 per EA or trading bot strategy
- Switching between EA and manual trading between challenge and funded account is not allowed
That last point is worth reading twice. If you pass the challenge with an EA and then decide you'd rather trade manually on the funded account — FundedNext considers that a violation.
Maximum Risk Per Trade — Funded Accounts
- 3% max risk per trade guideline, based on stop loss placement
- No stop loss within 3 minutes of opening a trade = 100% risk assumed, automatically
- First violation → 50% profit reduction
- Second violation → 100% profit reduction
- Third violation → placement into the Disciplined Trader Program
The Disciplined Trader Program sounds like something you'd find between "Mindful Investing" and "Trading With Intention" at an airport bookshop. In practice, it's FundedNext's way of saying your account is now on a very short leash & everyone involved knows it. Getting there requires three separate violations — which means you had at least two earlier opportunities to reconsider your approach and didn't. At that point, the program is probably deserved.
Drawdown Adjustment Rule — Instant Accounts
- 6% trailing max drawdown resets to initial balance once you reach 6% or more profit
- Withdrawing all profits after the reset results in account closure
So you grow the account, the drawdown resets, you withdraw everything, and the account closes. Not because you did anything wrong — just because there's nothing left to protect. It's a logical rule (according to them) that will still feel deeply unfair the first time it happens to you, which is exactly why it's in this section rather than buried in the footnotes where most firms prefer to keep it. In fact, from our own experience, we can tell you that they might be doing it because they want to lower their payouts.
News Trading
This one has a twist that most traders miss until it's too late — & "too late" in this context means after a profitable news trade that just got its payout cut in half without any warning you remember reading.
- Evaluation stage — fully allowed, no restrictions
- Funded accounts & Instant accounts — allowed, but any trade executed within 5 minutes before or after a high-impact news event is subject to a 40% news profit split rule
You can trade the news. You just won't keep the same percentage of what you make from it — & the difference between the standard split and 40% is large enough to matter when the trade actually works.
Final Take
FundedNext is a firm that has clearly spent time thinking about how traders actually behave — not just how they trade in theory, but how they behave when they think nobody is watching. The rules around strategy consistency, account rolling & the Disciplined Trader Program all point to a firm that's seen most of the tricks already & decided to write them down.
The 40% news profit split on funded accounts is the rule most likely to catch you off guard if news trading is part of your strategy — worth factoring into your numbers before you buy, not after your first high-impact trade pays out less than expected.
If your approach is consistent, your risk is controlled & you trade the same way in the challenge as you plan to trade funded — FundedNext is still a solid firm with clear rules and a structure that rewards exactly that kind of trader. If your strategy involves figuring things out as you go, FundedNext has already written a rule for that scenario too. Probably more than one.

fair rules fast payouts
Tried them out after a refund nightmare with a competitor. i traded indices mostly and the spreads on those were perfectly fine. i had a losing month and they did not nuke my account, just the usual rules applied. the payout actually hit my account in like two days which i did not expect. the ui looks like it was designed in 2014 but functionally everything works.
no drama payouts
Took teh plunge after lurking thier subreddit for a couple weeks. i compared them against three others and they had the best balance of price and rules. bro their mobile app is basic but it does let me check my account on the go. spreads widen a touch on the new york session but still nothing to write home about. i would rank them top three of everything i have tried this year.
better than my last firm
Was super skeptical going in because of all teh horror stories online. honestly the rules made my retail trading better too … forced discipline and all that. spreads are fine … nothing crazy, nothing terrible … it is a prop firm not a charity. idk but the funded payout split started at 80/20 and scaled up which felt fair. not flawless but the good outweighs the annoying by a wide margin.
decent for the price
A youtuber i actually trust reviewed them so i pulled teh trigger. email notifications can lag a bit which is mildly annoying but not a dealbreaker. their dashboard is genuinely useful, learned stuff about my own trading just looking at it. first withdrawal i was sweating bullets but it came through clean and on time. man
would sign up again
Bought the cheapest account they had just to test the waters. execution during london open is tight enough to scalp if you are into that. had one weird order rejection and they tracked it to a platform bug and credited me back. no surprise inactivity fees which i half expected to get hit with. i appreciated that they email you before a rule change instead of springing it. I don't see the point of some of the rules, man.
reliable little firm
so i finally caved and bought a challenge here after months of lurking. i scaled twice and each bump was a real size jump not some token gesture. the second phase target was lower than phase one which kept me sane. the weekly market recap they send is actually worth reading. fees are reasonable for what you get and the retake discount softens the blow. their content creators seem to actually trade the product instead of just reading scripts. sticking with them for now, they earned it.
pleasantly boring
A mentor of mine uses them so i followed his lead. the rules pdf is long but at least nothing is buried in tiny print. the scaling plan is actually motivating instead of being some impossible carrot on a stick. crypto and wire both supported, i did wire and it hit my bank in two business days. no hidden gotchas on the payout page, what they say is what you actually get. they refunded my eval fee when i got funded which was a nice surprise. would i bet my rent on them? already did, and it worked out.
beginner friendly enough
My first funded account ever was with these guys so i am a bit biased. support speaks actual english and not copy pasted template answers. there is a discord and staff actually show up in it occasionally. can you guys get in contact with this firm if I provide an acc number? their customer support hasn't replied in ages. kyc was painless, uploaded my id and got verified the same afternoon. platform was stable the whole time, no random disconnects during news. repeat customer here so take that for what it is worth.
no drama just trades
First prop firm i actually stuck with long enough to get funded. they paused my consistency tracker when i asked for a couple weeks off, super flexible. i like that they show your stats in real time instead of a delayed dashboard. i got a small payout bonus for hitting a milestone which was unexpected. pricing is not the cheapest but you kind of pay for the peace of mind. recommend with the usual caveat that you have to actually read the rules.
glad i gave them a shot
not gonna lie i went in expecting teh worst. platform was stable the whole time, no random disconnects during news. spreads are fine, nothing crazy, nothing terrible, it is a prop firm not a charity. i passed phase one then immediately fumbled phase two before pulling it back in the last week. bro i requested a payout three tmies and all three landed inside the promised window. i came in skeptical and i am leaving funded, draw your own conclusions.
