Funded Trading Plus
Funded Trading Plus launched in 2021 out of the UK and has spent four years being quietly competent. Not spectacular, not alarming. The kind of firm you'd choose if you ran out of better options and needed something that probably won't embarrass you. Probably.

Hit first milestone fast
Was looking for a firm that supported my specific trading style. Their affiliate program is transparent and pays out as promised. They punch above their weight compared to bigger competitors.— Verified Trader (Thomas Walsh) See all reviews
The consistency rule tightens after you pass — 35% during evaluation becomes 50% on the funded account. If your challenge included a few exceptional days, check whether those days would have violated the funded stage rule before you replicate the strategy. If you use an EA, be prepared to share the source code if requested — refusing is an automatic breach.

Funded Trading Plus – Trading Conditions
Forbidden Trading Practices
- Arbitrage — including latency arbitrage & exploiting pricing feed delays
- Tick scalping & abusive trading practices that exploit simulated conditions not replicable in real markets
- Copy trading across accounts — same positions, same market, same direction, same timeframe = breach
- Hedging across multiple accounts — opposing corresponding positions across accounts prohibited
- Excessive risk per trade — single trade or series of overlapping trades risking disproportionate % of account
- Boom or bust news trading — account success or failure depending on a single news event trade
- Over-leveraging & one-sided bets
- Third-party challenge-passing services — using services that pass challenges on your behalf
- Account sharing — trading on behalf of another user or managing another user's account
- Switching strategies between evaluation & funded stage
The copy trading rule is broader than most firms define it — FTP explicitly includes corresponding trades linked to another user's account, even if you didn't coordinate directly. If your strategy mirrors someone else's by coincidence, that's still flagged.
News Trading
News trading is allowed — no hard ban on trading around news events. The boom or bust approach is what gets flagged — account success or failure cannot rely on a single news event trade or series of connected news trades. Excessive risk-taking around news events triggers a risk review.
You can trade news. You just can't bet the account on it. That's a bit like being allowed to drive fast — as long as you're not doing it blindfolded on a motorway.
Expert Advisors
- EAs allowed — FTP explicitly supports automated trading
- FTP may request access to any third-party software used on their platforms, including logs & source code
- Failure to provide access → breach of T&C & account termination
- Third-party software malfunctions → sole responsibility of the account holder
The source code request clause is unusual & worth noting. If FTP suspects your EA breaches trading rules, they can demand access to the code. Refusing constitutes a breach. If you're using a custom EA, make sure you can share it if asked.
Copy Trading
- Copy trading of any kind across accounts → prohibited
- Same positions, same market, same direction, same timeframe across more than one account → breach
- Applies even if the other account belongs to another user — not just your own accounts
- Hedging across accounts → prohibited — opposing corresponding positions on different accounts
Account Models — Overview
| Model | Phase 1 Target | Phase 2 Target | Daily Loss | Max Loss | Drawdown Type | Consistency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instant Funding | — | — | 6% Static | 6% Trailing | Trailing | None |
| 1-Step Express | 10% | — | 4% Static | 6% Trailing | Trailing | None |
| 2-Step Classic | 7% | 7% | 4% Static | 8% Static | Static | 35% per step / 50% funded |
| Master (Legacy) | — | — | 6% Static | 6% Trailing | Trailing | None |
Max allocation $200K. Scaling path up to $2.5M available. Legacy programs no longer available as of February 2026.
Daily loss resets at 16:59 EST daily. All timezone references adjust automatically for daylight savings.
The 2-Step Classic — Consistency Rule
The 2-Step Classic is the only active model with a consistency requirement — & it applies at every stage.
- Evaluation phases → no single day can generate more than 35% of total net profit
- Funded stage → tightens to 50% — one exceptional day cannot exceed half of total profit
- Symbol Loss Limit → 3% maximum loss on any single symbol per day
The consistency requirement tightening from 35% to 50% in the funded stage is the most important number in this model. That's a bit like being told the speed limit increases in % once you get your full licence — then discovering it actually drops by 15mph. Passing the challenge with a few big days & then discovering the funded stage has stricter rules is a common source of confusion.
The Instant Funding — What It Actually Means
- No profit target — direct access to funded stage
- 6% trailing max loss from starting balance
- 6% daily loss static from balance at 16:59 EST
- KYC required before account is issued
- Contracted Researcher Agreement must be signed before any funds transfer
The KYC requirement upfront is standard — but worth noting that Instant Funding isn't truly instant until KYC is cleared & the agreement is signed. Factor that into your timeline.
Risk Review Process
FTP conducts risk reviews at any stage — including at evaluation pass & at withdrawal requests. Possible outcomes:
- Forfeiture of evaluation pass
- Forfeiture of all simulated profit in funded stage
- Forced risk management plan — including leverage reduction
- Account termination
- Ban from future purchases across FTP & sister firms
- Risk interview required before pass or withdrawal approval
The risk interview process is thorough — FTP explicitly states that misleading or frustrating the interview process carries the same penalties as failing it. If a risk review is triggered, cooperate fully.
Inactivity Rule
- 30 consecutive days without a simulated trade → account terminated
Standard across the industry. Nothing unusual here.
Withdrawal & Cancellation
- 14-day cancellation right — waived immediately upon placing the first simulated trade
- Minimum withdrawal → $50 on Instant Funding & 1-Step Express / 1% of account on 2-Step Classic funded stage
- Payouts → processed within 24-48 hours on average
- Chargebacks → FTP may respond publicly to negative reviews & reference prior communications under UK GDPR legitimate interests
Final Take
Funded Trading Plus is one of the more transparent firms in this category — documented rules, clear program parameters & a risk review process that's written down rather than applied arbitrarily. The scaling path to $2.5M & up to 100% profit split after performance milestones are genuine differentiators.
The 2-Step Classic's consistency tightening from 35% to 50% in the funded stage & the EA source code access clause are the two things worth reading carefully before committing. Neither is unusual — but both are stricter than they first appear.

Serviceable
Tried them based on a Reddit recommendation. Challenge retake discounts are generous enough to make retries reasonable. Trading here works, but not as smoothly as I had hoped.
Scaled after three months
First time trying a prop firm, so this was all new to me. Their bot-detection does not flag legitimate EA users like it does elsewhere. Will continue scaling my account here as long as they keep this level of quality.
Neither a win nor a loss
Came over from a different firm hoping for an improvement. Broker-grade execution during London open, average during NY session. Leaving without strong feelings in either direction.
Delayed every step of the way
Expected a modern, professional operation. Got something different. Account scaling milestones shifted after I reached one of them. For me, this was a clear lesson in ignoring flashy marketing.
